Malan couple murdered: police refused to investigate death threat

Jan and Susan Malan, 64 and 60, hacked and stabbed to death, Mooilande smallholdings, Vereeniging:

NOTHING ROBBED –  not even their car which still had their keys in it. Her  handbag was found next to her body, his wallet was still atop the kitchen cupboard with the bagged groceries. Mrs Malan worked as a clerk at the Children’s Court, he was a retired police officer. The couple got a death threat through their maid; their dogs were poisoned a week earlier — police refused to investigate their formal complaint:

Maid received warning at church that her employers ‘would be next’ after dogs were poisoned:

The mutilated bodies of Jan Malan, 64, and his wife Susan, 60, were found on the Mooilande-smallholdings outside Vereeniging: hacked and knifed to death with a hatchet. The Monday before they were murdered, the retired police officer was turned away from the Groendenne Satellite police station: he tried to have police investigate a death-threat he and his wife had received through their maid, and they also wanted to report that some of their dogs were poisoned.

  • They were murdered on Saturday June 11 2011: ambushed as they were carrying their groceries inside their homestead. NOTHING WAS STOLEN, not even their blue Toyota Corolla car; nor their legal guns locked inside the legally-registered gunsafe, nor their wallets or her handbag: it was lying right next to her mutilated body, her face covered by a scarf, when the couple were found.

Mrs Malan had worked as a clerk for the past 20 years at the Children’s  court. Her throat was sliced right through; when found her face was covered up by a scarf; her husband was stabbed in the left-side of his body with a knife and had hatchet-wounds to his face and head.

Maid found her employers murdered:
MalanCoupleMurderFamilyGriefJun112011_Mooilande_Vereeniging Their eldest daughter Mrs Minetta McLachlan, 39, (left  facing camera, her sister Maryke Mortagua standing next to her, weeping amongst neighbours and friends) said her parents’ neighbours were alerted by the (unnamed) maid: “she wanted to fetch the laundry from their house and found my parents’ bodies.” ‘ Mrs McLachlan phoned her sister Mrs Maryke Mortagua (33) and the daughters rushed to their parental home and waited outside while son-in-law Ian McLachlan, 43, went inside the homestead. ” Ian said the house was very dark. A scarf covered Mrs Malan’s face and he saw headwounds on Mr Malan’s face,’ said the neighbour to the Beeld journalist. Mr McLachlan also said two more of the couple’s dogs, including yorkshire-terrier Zack, were also found poisoned on Saturday – after their other dogs were poisoned the previous Monday. visual:

“Your employers are next’,  the maid was warned at church:
Two friends from the Vanderbijlpark Police Station accompanied Mr Malan to the smallholding and the men verified that they had found ‘countless bones covered in (two-step) poison. Someone then warned their housekeeper at her church that the Malan couple ‘would be next’, but when Mr Malan tried to lodge a formal charge at the Groendenne-satellite police station, he was turned away ‘due to jurisdiction problems’.The Malan couple then hired a security guard to look after the homestead during the nights until Thursday, when laser-alarms were installed around the smallholding’s erf.”We presumed that someone would try and kill my parents at night, not during the daytime,’ Mrs McLachlan said.

Who overheard Mrs Malan tell her daughter about her shopping plans?

MalanJanSusanMurderedDghterMinetteMcLachlanGrandsonJedian13Jan112011Vereeniging “My mom and I spoke Friday-night by phone and she said they wanted to go shopping on Saturday. The attackers broke a window to get inside the homestead, and ambushed my parents when they returned from shopping. They were attacked when they were carrying their groceries inside from  their blue Toyota Corolla . “My father’s wallet was untouched:  on the kitchen cupboard together with the groceries. My mother ‘s habit always was to first put her handbag in the bedroom: her handbag was found next to her body in the hallway,’ said the grieving daughter (right, consoling her 13-year-old son Jedian).

The police were unable to say ‘whether anything was stolen but the house was turned upside down, the couple’s handguns were inside their registered gun-safe and their car was not stolen’. SAPF CONSTABLE Teboho Lephoto claimed that ‘it will be investigated why Mr Malan was turned away from the police station when he tried to lodge a charge’.The police also claimed that they ‘questioned two youths who were seen in the vicinity of Deneysville’. http://www.beeld.com/Suid-Afrika/Nuus/Vrou-keelaf-gesny-20110612

Who overheard Mrs Malan telling her daughter about their shopping plans?
My personal comment: Nobody said anything about the fact that someone very close-by, a person in a position of trust, must have overheard Mrs Malan when she told her daughter by telephone that the couple ‘would go shopping Saturday.

Boshoff Henri military analyst INSTITUTE_SECURITY_STUDIES-dead in accident April 25 2011 –
PRETORIA. Top military-analist Henri Boshoff of Institute of Security Studies crashed his car into a guard-rail to avoid an “unexpected detour barrier’ which had been erected at 7am in Duncan Street, Pretoria:  April 25 2011: Bossie Boshoff, 54, whose hard-hitting reports through his work at the Institute for security studies have become increasingly critical of the ANC-regime, died in a mystery accident on 25 April 2011 when his car hit a guard-rail in Duncan Street after he’d tried to evade an unexpected road-detour on his way home to Brooklyn from the Union Buildings. Boshoff was a much-loved Afrikaans community leader throughout his adult life: he was returning to his home in Brooklyn at 7am from the Union Buildings, where he had just attended the annual Australian Legation’s wreath-laying ceremony for the South African soldiers who had died in the battle of Gallipoli in Turkey in world war one. He was also involved in the community-policing forum. Until 2000 he served in the Army, and was involved in organising the SANDF peacekeeping operations in Africa, where he was referred to as “Mr Fix-It”. http://www.beeld.com/Suid-Afrika/Nuus/Militere-ontleder-sterf-in-ongeluk-20110425

Grobler, Flip and Pop, farmers brutally attacked by three knifemen, Klopperbos farm Hammanskraal

Grobler Flip and Pop 17APRIL 2011 BADLY ASSAULTED KLOPPERBOS HAMMANSKRAAL (source: Gerhard Pretorius, Beeld). – Three black men brutalised and badly beat up 72-year-old homesteader Flip Grobler and his wife Pop, 70 on Sunday 17 April, 2011. Mr Grobler had undergone a heart-bypass operation only two weeks earlier and suffered another heart attack.
The knifemen held the couple at knifepoint for an hour at their Klopperbos, Hammaskraal homestead. Mrs Grobler was repeatedly kicked on her body, leg and in the face. The couple were tied up with wire. The knifemen escpaed with money, four firearms, clothes and used their bakkie as a get-away car – which they then crashed against a tree. Mr Grobler had undergone a heart-bypass only weeks before and the ordeal and beating caused him to have another heart-attack.Mrs Grobler said due to his frail condition, she was trying to draw the attackers’ attention away from her husband. “I wouldn’t have seen my husband alive today. When I came out of the bathroom I found the men dragging my husband around. So I tried to get their attention away from him and they started kicking and beating me. The couple have now moved in with their daughter Ms Mari Taut. Mr Grobler was discharged from hospital three days after the attack, but he’s reportedly ‘not doing well,’ the family said. It is suspected by Marius Mok, deputy-chair of the Praesidium neighbourhood watch, that the same three knifemen also attacked a farm worker on a neighbouring farm a few days later. The worker was admitted to hospital with injuries when he was attacked with a spade.

Illegal gold-miners endanger hospital, old-age home, two suburbs in Welkom
Welkom illegal miners chop open roadway to loot steel rods underneath 2011-04-23 WELKOM. Only meters from homes of Afrikaner families in Naudeville and St Helena, illegal miners are breaking up roads and tearing up the land around the old St- Helena mine’s Nr 2 shaft in their desperate search for gold-dust. (report and picture: Tom de Wet) The plunderers even chopped open a tarmac-road to get to the steel-rods underneath. The gold-panners, referred to as ‘zama-zamas’ apparently are very desperate people who will go to any length to make money, said DA councillor Karen Meyer. “The circumstances in which they live and work, and the fact that they even cut open a roadway to get to the steel beneath, is proof.’ She joined worried residents and police in visiting the site around the worked-out goldmine and said it’s just ‘an unacceptable situation’. “I am shocked about the massive extent of this problems. My largest source of concern is the safety of the residents. “These criminal activities take place right next to the St Helena hospital, the retirement centre St Knights haven of St Francis, the St. Andrews School, the Pines children’s home and two residential areas, namely St Helena and Naudéville. The lives of children, the elederly and the ill all are being endangered by these unacceptable mining-activities and these cannot be tolerated’.

Tortured Afrikaner smallholder Chris Bronkhorst, 67, dies after 8 months due to maltreatment in hospice:
Bronkhorst Chris tortured smallholder dies from maltreatment in hospice May242011 April 24 2011 – Family-friend Marius Avenant writes; “I am sad to say that we have been informed this morning that Chris Bronkhorst has died early this morning after a long suffering. Rest in Peace Chris. You will be remembered.” On September 29, 2010, four black males attacked Bronkhorst, a pensioner, 67 years old, who was already partially disabled from a stroke. He was brutally tortured with melting plastic and he was whipped repeatedly with a sjambok in his Walkerville smallholding home. Some details of the sexual-tortures meted out to the mentally-confused man were so gruesome that they have never been published. The attack was only confirmed to the news media four days later, on November 2 2010, by the SAPS – and only after the family had told the news media about it. Shocking images have since emerged of Chris Bronkhorst’s maltreatment in a public hospice and his continuing suffering due to the maltreatment at the hospice where he was moved after his wounds were healed at the Milpark Hospital a month earlier. When he arrived at the hospice, all his wounds had healed: Family friend Magda Cracknell wrote: “There were no pressure sores on his body when he was moved to the hospice.. Within weeks, a leg had to be amputated because of untreated pressure sores. The traumatic attack caused a severe shock to his body and he has lost his zest for life. On November 20 2010 he was taken back to the intensive care unit with a stroke and complications.” Family members and friends said he was ‘surrounded by uncaring hospice staff.”The police-report of the scene where Bronkhorst was tortured noted that “There were blood spatters against the kitchen wall where they had bashed him against it. He was also lashed with a sjambok’. His wife also found that the black attackers also had dripped melting plastic on his hands – it is summised because they were “angered about not finding any firearms in the gun-safe”.  The forensic signs also showed that Mr Bronkhorst was roughly dragged from the kitchen to the living room and tortured there – so gruesomely that not all the details have been published. She didn’t understand why they needed to torture him after they did not find anything of value. “He was disabled, they could just have taken anything they wanted: he was unable to defend himself and was at home, alone. The torturers only took some cheap bling, a cellphone, a watch and cash – total value: about R10,000… SAPS spokesman capt Shado Mashobane has merely confirmed the ‘incident’ and said “nobody was arrested”. And due to the maltreatment at the hospice, if somebody is arrested they would probably only be charged with culpible homicide – since it could not be proven that the Afrikaner had died because of the wounds the suspects had inflicted on him.. Mrs Bronkhorst’s sister Caroniena Cameron asked Beeld: ‘what kind of people melt burning plastic on someone’s hands. Those are not human beings doing such things…’ original attack as described by Beeld:

Black-racist appointment of High Court Judge in West Cape is Unconstititional, top expert warns
Henney Robert only black applicant among 7 for WC High Court appointed 2 posts left open The April 12 2011 appointment of Western Cape High Court Judge Robert Henney, picture, was unconstitutional warns president of Cape Bar Council. The rejection of 6 skilled white judge-candidates over this one succesful black candidate– while still leaving two of 3 posts vacant on the WesternCape High Court Bench – is racist and unconstitutional because the Supreme Court of Appeal’s president and deputy-president were not present during the April 12 2011 interviews, the deliberations and the decisions. Their presence is required under Section 178 of the
SA Constitution, said Senior Council Alasdair Sholto-Douglas SC: “The ‘Cape Bar Council is deeply dismayed that the JSC filled only one of the three vacancies on the Western Cape High Court, for which it interviewed seven shortlisted candidates on 12 April 2011. Mr Henney was the only black candidate. The remaining six candidates were white. One was a woman. All six of these white candidates have served as acting judges in the Western Cape High Court on numerous occasions. “ Entire statement issued by Alasdair Sholto-Douglas SC, Chair Cape Bar Council, April 20 2011 :

Springs ratepayers set up War Room to ‘combat the ever-increasing crime”
Ratepayers in the mining town of Springs in South Africa have set up their own War Room to combat the ‘ever-increasing crime’, reports Amanda van den Barg on 21 April 2011. “The Selection Park and Clydesdale Citizen-policing-forum have combined forces and set up a War Room to protect the residents in their communities inside a radius of about 20km². The War Room walls are covered in detailed maps of the entire Selection Park area, as well as the smallholdings of Edelweiss, Daggafontein and Struisbult — and a radio to communicate with unpaid volunteer-members while they are out on patrol.
Louis Hennings, chairman of the CPF, hopes to install 300 CCTV cameras to  monitor the Selection Park area all of which will be linked to plasma screen TVs in the War Room.“The War Room will also be used for their monthly meetings with police, and with the maps being used to plot criminal activity, any special operations with police will also be organised from there.“As it stands, our members take up shifts to patrol the whole of Selection Park and the cameras would make a huge difference to our own efficiency,” he says. Meanwhile the question must be asked over and over again: why do people still pay their rates and taxes to the ANC-regime when the taxpayers still have to spend all their free time and all their money to do their own policing?

Policing the police – get on board

Citizens and the Good Cops join forces against the criminal, abusive cops…

Andre Snyman of eblockwatch.co.za writes:  “This video below shows the kind of criminal behaviour by the SA Police which make the Good Police who network with www.Eblockwatch .co.za very angry. Take a look at this video — then take action. Get all your friends who want to team up with eblockwatch – take on the Dirty Cops by registering to eblockwatch.co.za

Get the Power back to the The People!

Last weekend eblockwatch.co.za managed to get a group of ladies out of jail before they had to spend the long weekend locked up — because the police were ‘dragging their feet to lay charges’:

video above: two seperate groups of South African Police officers in two police cars were involved in the above scene: one group beat up and then LOOTED the man’s belongings (watch closely to what happens to his blue bag on the right). The other group of cops meanwhile, walked right past the scene and were posted only a few metres away – but failed to intervene in the brutal beating of this man. Civilians even strolled up to get a closer look – and only one of  all these people – namely the person shooting the video –  apparently saw anything wrong with the brutal way this unarmed man was set upon by so many armed police officers… Amazingly, he staggered to his feet, clearly hurt, after the beating and one can surmise from his body-language that he cursed the cops. These are the kind of police officers who now are supposed to protect the South African public…

———-

Andre Snyman, the host at eblockwatch.co.za, writes: “Three weeks ago I received a phone call from a police officer who called to apologise for the bad behaviour of a specific police officer in his division. I could not believe what I was hearing and I immediately asked if I could meet up with him so that I could hear more about the incident and why he really called. Within a few hours I was having coffee with him and a few of his colleagues. They were very despondent because of the corruption in the force and they felt that they were losing the respect and support of the public.

Good cops versus Bad Cops:

At eblockwatch we always take the negative and turn it into a positive. So we are putting together a police reaction team of Good Cops that eblockwatch can mobilise to take down bad cops. And – just like in the movies we need the public’s assistance. We want you and as many of your friends to register on eblockwatch as crime spotters. Then we would like you to leave a R10 note in your car. See your members home page for volunteer type. Write the number of the R10 and leave the piece of paper in your car. Important. This is only for registered http://www.eblockwatch.co.za members. It does not work if your cellphone is not connected to our system.

In response to a rising number of reported incidents about police abusing their power Eblockwatch had already launched the Police the Police campaign. FREE to all registered eblockwatch members – please ensure that your 4-Support member details are correct in the system (especially their email addresses!). Please note that normal cell phone rates apply for the call.

All members please save 0822360003 to your contacts. If you are pulled over by the police dial this number, the conversation between you and the police is recorded and saved on our server. We ask that you try to provide as much detail as possible during the conversation: Describe the police car (make, model, colour, the number painted on the side of the car along with the registration number) Ask the police person for their name and badge number Mention the number of police officers. Make it clear to the officer that you have just made a call to your friend to tell them where you are. Describe your location and surroundings. Try to let the phone remain in a position where the conversation can be recorded. When you hang up, a link to the voice recording is sent in an email to your four support members. An additional benefit for our members with the panic button service is that we immediately send an sms notification to them to check their email for your voice recording.

A note about the length of the call: as many people have been testing the service by simply dialling in and then hanging up we have set the system to only send out the email with the link to the recording if the call was longer than 5 seconds. This is to cut down on false alarm situations. The purpose of this service is to have evidence of the bogus cop or cop abusing their power To have your 4 support members get the details of your situation via the recording The mere fact that the police officer is aware of being recorded will encourage the correct behaviour. http://www.eblockwatch.co.za

White policewoman charged with ‘disrespect’ — but she was the one who was assaulted by her black boss…
2011-03-23. An indication of how badly-fractured the internal relations are between white and black police officers in the SAPS, a white police-constable was facing an internal hearing yesterday, accused of being ‘disrespectful of a senior officer by throwing her hands up in the air’. The female white police-constable identified only as M. Crewe, stood trial in an internal police-discliplinary hearing yesterday when an unexpected, independent witness showed up – who testified that it was the young white constable who had been assaulted and verbally abused on May 28 2010 by the black senior officer who had accused her.

Constable Crewe’s job was saved when Jan Sewata Sephlapela, a citizen who was pulled over by Crewe an a colleague in a traffic check on May 28 last year, submitted testimony at the young white constable’s internal hearing – describing how the young woman was beaten up and verbally abused by Gen-maj F N Vuma, the chief of operational- and general support at the SAPS headquarter’s crime-intelligence unit… (source: Hilda Fourie, Beeld). Constable Crewe was forced to appear in the discliplinary hearing, charged by Vuma with ‘behaving disrespectfully towards a senior officer for throwing her hands up in the air’. However the charge against her was immediately withdrawn, said her legal counsel Jack Gerber, after Sephlapela, submitted his description of what had really happened to constable Crewe. His statement was that constable Crewe was beaten over her neck and back by her supervisor Genl-Maj F N Vuma in an incident he witnessed when he had been pulled over in traffic by constable Crewe on May 28.

His testimony: “Gen-maj. Vuma screamed and yelled at constable Crewe, and assaulted her across her back and neck. That’s when constable Crewe threw up her hands in the air (in exasperation).” Vuma had shown up at the scene  – being managed by Constable Crew and another colleague — on 28 May 2010 because Sephlapela ‘had seemed suspect’, according to Vuma’s testimony. To protect herself and her colleague as routine required, Crewe had by then already ordered Mr Sephlapela to lie flat on the ground. However Vuma stormed in with another colleague and intervened by ordering the ‘suspect man’ to stand back up again. Vuma apparently ‘already had it in for Crewe’ as the senior police officer and the young constable had already had a run-in a day before, said her legal counsel. Sephlapela ‘s testimony was that it was at this point, that Vuma had screamed and yelled at the young constable, and beat her over her back and continued to verbally abuse her in loud, foul language. After yesterday’s unexpected testimony, the internal-charges against constable Crewe were immediately dropped – and the white constable now s considering lodging civil charges against Vuma, said her legal counsel. http://www.beeld.com/Suid-Afrika/Nuus/Klag-laat-vaar-nadat-verdagte-man-praat-20110323

Case against ‘dead-drunk’ cop dropped: blood samples ‘disappeared”
March 24 2011 –
www.Eblockwatch.co.za writes: The case of a dead-drunk SAPS-officer from Eldorado Park, caught driving and so drunk that he fell from his car in May 2010 — and his abusive rantings recorded by cellphone – has been dropped by the Johannesburg magistrate’s court after his blood samples ‘disappeared’.

The man now is also threatening to sue the Johannesburg Metro-police Department for ‘wrongful arrest and assault’. Yet as Eblockwatch.com’s recordings showed, the man was clearly so drunk he cannot even remember giving blood samples. Writes
Alex Eliseev of The Star newspaper
: “First you hear the wind blowing into the cellphone, then complainant Justi Sasser’s voice breaks in. “The time now is 20.51. I’ve got a policeman here that’s totally intoxicated… under the influence of alcohol… that he can’t even drive his own vehicle. I’ve contacted metro police…”  Sasser then explains that this allegedly drunk police officer was on his property.  About five minutes later, Sasser is recording again, calmly giving the registration number of the policeman’s vehicle. He pauses, and a few seconds later, the policeman’s voice booms. out: “”It’s over. Its f***ing over.” Silence. “I … I know … I’m 20 years in this business man.” Silence. “F*** you bitch… F*** you bitch… It’s over… Twenty years… F*** you…”  And on it goes, with the officer switching to Afrikaans and telling those around him that he works for a trio task team. He tells someone at the scene to “just be a man about it”, but his sentences make little sense. Sasser gives the time again, and the registration number, and signs out with “we are taking this further”.

For 32-year-old Sasser, a drive to fetch some dvd’s for a quiet night at home led to the dramatic arrest of this officer, who was due to appear in court to face a drunk-driving charge. Sasser tells the story: recalling that he’d  pulled out of his driveway when he noticed a white VW Polo Classic creeping along the road with its hazard lights on. It was shortly before 9pm on Saturday outside Sasser’s home in Eagle’s Nest, south of Joburg. The Polo – a state vehicle – allegedly nearly bumped Sasser’s car. Sasser drove up to the car and pulled it over. According to him, the man inside at first refused to open the door, but when he did, he fell straight to the ground. Sasser called his security company and then the Johannesburg metro police department. The policeman was handcuffed and taken to an alcohol testing centre. Sasser endured verbal abuse but remained unmoved, discovering that the officer – who is from Eldorado Park – was apparently on standby to be called out to crime scenes. “I don’t care if he had 30 years’ service or if he was the president,” Sasser said. “He was on call.” The officer’s blood was drawn and he was taken to Mondeor police station and locked up. Sasser described how the policeman threatened him and at times failed to comprehend that he had been handcuffed and was on his way to jail. Provincial police spokeswoman Captain Katlego Mogale confirmed the arrest and that the officer worked at the Johannesburg trio task team. Sasser was able to record two clips – the first lasting 55 seconds and the second two minutes and 17 seconds – by using a Eblockwatch initiative called Police the Police. By calling a certain number, eblockwatch members can record their interactions with officers and have the audio clip immediately uploaded to the internet. Even if the phone is switched off or smashed, the recording uploads as soon as it is interrupted. Eblockwatch gave The Star this story and helped with audio clips. The Star is in possession of the officer’s name but has withheld it until he appearedin court. This incident is similar to the car crash in which the foul-mouthed Judge Nkola Motata drove his Jaguar through a residential wall. What followed was also recorded on a cellphone and was used to convict the judge. http://www.eblockwatch.co.za

Crime pays: generates millions in revenue for SA regime:source: Carina Rudman.

Example 1: One-million homeowners pay for ‘Armed Crime Reaction” after crimes take place – generating R403-m in tax-revenue Take just one million home owners in Gauteng who pay for “armed crime reaction” (not crime prevention) where private security companies react AFTER the crime has taken place – no wonder they never make any arrests! This service costs on average R250 p.m. Therefore 1,000,000 x R240.00 x 12 months x 14% VAT, generates R403 million in tax revenue for the SA Govt.
Example 2: VAT earns about R70,000 per stolen car for the government: A car thief steals a R500,000 car and receives between R10,000 and R30,000 for his deed. The car owner is paid out by insurance and then purchases another similar vehicle, on which he pays 14% VAT of approx R70,000 as a direct result of crime. Who profited the most? The thief or the SA Govt?

Example 3: Government earns a forture in estate duty from murdered farmers’ estates: You must begin with a mechanism whereby the SA Govt is forced to reconsider this unconstitutional and immoral practice of profiting from crime. All South Africans should demand that all payments related to protection of life and property should be VAT free and Tax deductible. This principle should also apply to replacement of stolen property as well as estate duty. If a person dies as a result of crime you should also demand that estate duty not be paid. How much do you think the SA Govt. has made out of estate duty from the murders of just 1,300 South African farmers?

Why should the victims of violence pay for their own medical costs? The S.A. Govt likes to compare you to overseas. Well overseas your safety and security is covered by your income tax and is tax deductible! It is time that South Africans stood together and made the Govt. and public aware of the Govt’s “income” from crime. In the meantime crime is the goose that lays the golden egg. Is it also not unreasonable to expect victims of violence and hijackings to pay their own medical costs? The Govt. should pay for these expenses as well as family counselling for victims! MP David Maynier chased from SA parliament – accused ANC MP of ‘having blood on his hands’ over R80-m arms sales to Libya:

2011-03-24 Kaapstad – Democratic Alliance MP David Maynier was bodily chased from parliament when he demanded to know from ANC-MP Jeff Radebe – who chairs the conventional-weapons control committee (NCACC) ‘how it feels to have blood on your hands’. When Maynier demanded that Radebe confirm the sale of more than 100 sniper-rifles and abou 50,000 rounds of ammo to Libya last year, Maynier was chased out – taken out by the police from parliament. The incident occurred after the news that col Muammar Gaddafi of Libya’s forces were using snipers in Misrata to shoot dead rebels. “Did Radebe approve the sale of those sniper-rifles to Libya? If so, how does it feel for the honourable minister to have blood on his hands?” asked Maynier. ANC-speaker Max Sisulu demanded that Maynier withdraw the comment – and when the white MP refused, Sisulu ordered him removed bodily from the chamber by its policing-force. While refusing to discuss the sniper-rifles, Radebe confirmed that his committee had approved more than 75 permits for the sales of more than 9,000 ‘arms goods’ to Libya to the value of R80,86-million – including armoured personnel carriers and C130 transport planes… Maynier said that the sales of the weapons to the Libyan regime ‘make it look as if the South African government is supporting Ghaddafi. Only after the violence broke out, did the SA government decide to place an arms embargo.’http://www.nuus24.com/Suid-Afrika/Nuus/Chaos-in-parlement-oor-wapens-aan-Libie-20110324

Crime reports March 24 2011

summary: two valiant Afrikaans women fight back  – survive attacks by black males in their homes; a white police-constable was beaten up by her black senior officer and then was charged with ‘behaving without respect’… MP David Maynier chased from parliament after asking ANC-minister ‘how it feels to have blood on his hands’ after arms sales to Libya – and why the South African government simply loves crime – because it pays the treasury so well.

White policewoman charged: but she was the one who was assaulted by her black boss…

Rienie vd Linde, 62, survives second armed attack – Annlin Pretoria 2011-03-24 For the second time within four months, Hilda Fourie was attacked by an armed gang and was lucky to survive. She was shot in the upper left-leg and treated at hospital after she was attacked by one of the gunmen in the driveway of her Annlin, Pretoria home as she was leaving for work at 5:30am. Four months ago she was also beaten black and blue by an armed gang in exactly the same spot, said husband Frik, 72.  (source: Hilda Fourie, Beeld). She managed to get away and rang her frontdoor bell – and just as her daughter Marlisa, 34, was busy making up her bed she heard the shot. When she ran to the backdoor a man also stood there with a gun – pointing it at the daughter’s face. The man walked inside, took a laptop computer – he walked straight to it – and jumped across the fence. The family’s erf is adjacent to an empty lot frequented by vagrants. SAPS Pinky Tshinyane, confirmed the ‘house robbery’. http://www.beeld.com/Suid-Afrika/Nuus/Vrou-weer-in-oprit-by-huis-aangeval-20110324

Farm wife Linda van Zyl, 51, fought off
attempted rapist for an hour,Tweeling 2011-03-23 07:04   Tweeling. Farm-wife Linda van Zyl, 51, was attacked in her homestead at 6:40am just minutes after her husband had left in his bakkie to inspect the farm. “The attacker didn’t want anything except to rape me, saying he’d seen it on TV,’ she told Volksblad afterwards. She saw the half-naked black man first when she ran into him in the kitchen just as she heard her husband drive off in his bakkie. (source: Willem van der Berg, Volksblad). But Mrs van Zyl refused to ‘cooperate’ and fought back fiercely, for over an hour. “I kept rolling myself into a ball, I just refused that he could get his way with me,’ she said. “I knew my husband would be back at 8am. She got hold of her revolver but it wouldn’t fire – and when the man grabbed the gun and pointed it at her, it also failed to fire. “All I could think of at that stage was that I did not want to die. I fought so I could live. When the man started trying to rape her again, a shot went off from the gun he was holding but the bullet did not hit anyone. After struggling for so long the man tried to strangle her to death and was ‘soaked in sweat and getting tired’,  she said. Then I told him I was going to pray for him – and the rapist suddenly told her that he wanted her to walk outside with him because he was afraid somebody was going to shoot him. She did. The armed man climbed on a bicycle and rode off just as her husband Nick showed up. He was livid and tried to chase after the man, who’d disappeared in the bush. “I am glad I couldn’t find him because I would have done something very irreponsible,’ said the husband. The farmers’ association’s emergency team was alerted and they cornered the suspect about an hour later together with police, hiding out in a maize-field. The man is 22 years old and apparently known as a local to the farming couple. – http://www.nuus24.com/Suid-Afrika/Nuus/Boervrou-veg-totdat-aanvaller-padgee-20110323-2
