Does Nedbank fingerprint clients for ANC-regime?

‘Which ‘third-party’ government officials get access to Nedbank ‘s fingerprint-database? And what happens to this fingerprint database of (non-criminal) Nedbank customers?

Customers of Nedbank may want to be aware that their fingerprints — given as they enter some of its branches  — are linked to a mysterious ‘third party’ computer (probably Dept of Home Affairs).

And nobody seems to know what happens to that data-base at that mysterious ‘third-party’ site. (click on pictures to enlarge)

FINGERPRINT SCANNER NEDBANK HATFIELD BRANCH PRETORIANedbank violates just about every international civil-liberty law in the world with this fingerprinting system – and moreover, also violates the SA Constitution — because they publish this announcement of their ‘Guardian system’  in only one of South Africa’s  official languages. As if only English-speaking customers have the right to be informed. Nedbank does not state who this ‘third party’ is – and also fails to say what happens to the Nedbank fingerprint data-base at that ‘third party’. Does it get eraced? Does it get stored together with the customers’ other private information at a ‘third-party’ database? Nobody knows: just like nobody knows what happened to the many tens of thousands of legal gun-reregistration files at this increasingly chaotic ‘government’’ s gun-registration office. Nedbank’s official reply to its customers:

Nedbank’s official reply to Vanderbijlpark customer’s complaint of this invasion of customers’ civil-liberties did not address the issue itself. Its spokesman Sean de Necker noted : “I acknowledge your comments and thank you for raising your concerns with us because it is only through constructive feedback from our clients that we can identify and improve in areas that need our urgent attention.. Please accept my apologies for any inconvenience caused and be assured that I have escalated this matter to the Head of our Branch Security department for investigation. I appreciate your patience and shall revert to you as soon as feedback is received. ‘ Civil liberties invaded ’:

nedbank fingerprint scanner linked to HomeAffairs Database for criminals Last week, we were made aware of complaints from customers at two Nedbank branches —  Hatfield in Pretoria and Vanderbijlpark – who lodged complaints about this invasion of their civil-liberties. One customer at Vanderbijlpark lodged a complaint on 11 July with the HelloPeter.com website. Another customer became so concerned about the lack of information as to what happens to Nedbank visitors’ databases at some leaky government office, that they alerted Censorbugbear, sending photographs of the wretched machine they had to log into before getting access to their own bank.

It has been established that on 1 February 2008, Nedbank started exploring the purchase of a Fingerprint Verification system, according to the Journal for Security, Operations and Risk Management:
