ANC-territory: tresspassers will be executed

Judge Lamont: “I drive with the window down through town… everybody is perfectly safe’…

Afrikaans farm-attack victim, called as a witness at Malema hatespeech trial,  is too afraid for his family’s safety to testify…

EQUALITY COURT, Johannesburg. April 15 2011. An Afrkaner witness in the hatespeech trial against ANC youth league president Julius Malema, “was too afraid to testify”, the Equality Court heard on Friday. (source: Yadhana Jadoo, The Citizen). Meanwhile the Face book sites in South Africa are awash with hate speech, with ANC-members even issuing direct death-threats to Afrikaners who comment on the case on the ANC  and its youth league’s websites.

The legal counsel for the Transvaal Agricultural Union of SA Roelof du Plessis told Judge Colin Lamont that his witness, who was the victim of a farm attack, had decided not to come forward out of fear for his life and his family. “The witness expressed sincere discomfort and apprehension. He has also raised concerns over his family, and for that reason will not testify on Friday,” Du Plessis told the court.

Judge Lamont: “I drive with the window down through town… everybody is perfectly safe’…
Lamont advised Du Plessis that his witness “need have no fear” as far as safety and security within the court was concerned.
“Everyone is perfectly safe,” he said in assuring Du Plessis that the deputy director general for safety and security at the high court had been approached to make sure that the court proceedings were safe.Du Plessis said the witness was not just talking about court, but that his concerns also lay “outside this court“.”… I drive with the window down through town,” Lamont said.

However, Du Plessis then gave examples of derogatory remarks on the placards people were carrying outside the court.
Malema was dressed in a navy blue suit on Friday and was seen sipping an energy drink.
Malema is on trial in the Equality Court on a charge of hatespeech brought by the civil rights group AfriForum over his singing of the song Skiet die Boer, shoot the Boer, Awudubhule ibhunu”.

More hatespeech charges lodged on Friday
AfriForum lodged more hatespeech-charges against Malema and ANC spokesman Floyd Shivambu at the
Johannesburg magistrate’s court for encouraging people outside the court to sing the lyrics with them. The claim was denied by Shivambu. AfriForum took this decision after Malema encouraged his followers outside the.Court building in Johannesburg to sing a song with the words ‘shoot to kill’ with him,” the civil rights organisation’s deputy CEO Ernst Roets said.”Shivambu also sang the song dubula (i)bhunu (shoot the boer) outside the court this afternoon in front of a group of Youth League supporters, and encouraged them to sing along with him.” The civil rights group laid the charges at the Equality Court, sitting in the South Gauteng High Court, at 09:00.
“If the Youth League really wanted to encourage peaceful co-existence in South Africa, they would rather have encouraged their followers to refrain from singing songs like that until the judge has given his verdict in the case that is currently being heard in court,” Roets said.

The case continues – while the hate speech about the case on the social media is also hotting up by the day with warnings such as the one below:

This is ANC territory, trespassers will be executed…’

ANC-members on Face book threaten to execute Afrikaners who comment on Malema case:

The case continues. Meanwhile Face book is brimming with hatespeech over the case.  An Afrikaans woman, Mrs Brenda van Buuren posted the following threat she received from ANC-member Msizi Guma, who wrote on April 15 2011: “A big FU to Brenda van Burren. Your DA propaganda isn’t and will never work here… this is ANC territory, trespassers will be executed, be warned””
