The Afrikaans mom went missing on 16 April 2010 just after 9pm when she briefly left from her family’s Brakpan central flat to buy cigarettes nearby. She shared the flat with mom Ida Bianchina (52), gran Trudie Duvenhage and her her sons Damian (10) and Devan (2). Her mom raised the alarm as soon as she realised her daughter was not answering her cellphone. “I will never forget those fear-filled hours and those three days after her disappearance,’ said her mom. Liesl’s blood-spattered car was found on Saturday near Windmill Park in Springs. And her body was discovered the following Tuesday, April 20. The SAPS investigation remains open, but Ida has also appointed a private detective to help find the murderers.”My child’s murderers are at large out there, and I won’t rest until I know who they are. A parent should never have to experience something like this. Some days I feel I can handle it, but other days I get this empty feeling in my stomach when I think about her.’ Two men were briefly detained and questioned shortly after the murder but released due to a lack of evidence. Anyone with new information is urged to contact Ida Bianchina at tel 083 430 2591.
