‘ They would surely have killed us… ‘

They struck his truck with sticks, pipes, rocks, rubble and bricks. Three windows were smashed and the mob then tried to enter the truck’s cabin to drag the three occupants outside – including Mr Parkins, a private contractor who owns the truck. “If they had managed to pull me and my workers out the truck they would have surely killed us,” said Mr Parkins.“There were more than 20 of them,” said one of Mr Parkin’s employees, clearly shaken by what had happened. Mr Parkins contacted the SAPS shortly thereafter. It’s not known what the contents of his truck were.
